Device Item Optimization

For a more convenient item usage experience

“Items like the Portal and Active Skill Cards, which can only be carried one at a time, will now have clearer visual effects on the ground and in the shop. More items like the Dronee and Healing Drone will be added to the gear category and will become easier to use. There may even be Active Skill Cards with unlimited uses to help you in BR battles. Check out these new gear items in-game!”
  • All gear items will have new ground effects, rarity colors, and updated icons in the backpack and shop, making it clear that they are gear items.

Backpack capacity adjustment

No more running out of space with your expanded backpack!

"Running out of backpack space has always been a common frustration, especially for players who prefer submachine guns. Limited backpack capacity can restrict weapon choices, and that's not the experience we want for our players. To address this, we've increased backpack capacity and adjusted item weights. Now, your backpack will no longer hold you back from choosing the weapons you love!"
  • Backpack capacity adjustments:
    • Backpack level 1: 60% capacity increase (60 → 100)
    • Backpack level 2: 30% capacity increase (180 → 240)
    • Backpack level 3: 20% capacity increase (300 → 360)
  • Ammo Weight Adjustments:
    • SG Ammo: 50% weight increase (2 → 3)

  • Airdrop Adjustment:
    • During the event, Cyber Airdrops will be transformed into Hypercrate Drops. The capture area has been expanded and is now surrounded by more shelters, providing players with better cover during capture.
  • Special Gameplay:
    • Vote for your favorite gameplay elements during the event to bring them to CS mode.

Mode

Lone Wolf Mode Optimization

New duel feature and new map!

“Lone Wolf has long been one of our most popular modes, offering players an exciting platform to challenge friends and hone their skills. However, we’ve also received a lot of feedback regarding matchmaking and map design, particularly regarding the current lack of group matchmaking and the cramped, crowded map layouts. To address these issues, we’ve made targeted improvements. Now, you can enjoy a smoother, more refined dueling experience with your friends!”
  • Gameplay Update:
    • Select Duel Mode to duel with a friend in your party
  • Map changes:
    • Some overly complex maps have been removed to simplify the match experience
    • Added new map layouts that include new features to enrich gameplay

Characters

Oscar

Oscar is the new character in Free Fire
Oscar is the new character in Free Fire

night watchman

“By day, Oscar is a brilliant student; by night, he is a beloved vigilante. Born into a wealthy family, his life took a dramatic turn when his parents gifted him with a custom-made battle suit. This extraordinary suit grants him incredible powers, allowing him to easily destroy enemy defenses and catch them off guard.”

Insane Impact:

Dashes towards the target, damaging and knocking away opponents it encounters, as well as destroying Gel Walls in its path.

Ignis

Ignis Free Fire
Ignis Free Fire

The burning screen has evolved to take Bermuda by storm!

“Ignis has always been a fan favorite due to his handsome appearance. While his skill has always matched his stylish appearance, his practicality has sometimes been overshadowed. This time, we’re enhancing his functionality by allowing him to blaze a trail. With this new ability, Ignis will provide more valuable support and help the team move forward.”

Fire Wall:

Deploys a 10m wide flaming screen that lasts for 10s and moves forward at 6m/s for up to 5s. While in effect, use the ability again to stop the screen. Enemies (or Gel Walls) that come into contact with it will instantly take 25 (or 400) DMG, then take 5 (or 100) DMG/s. Lasts 2s. Cooldown: 60s.

Shield Point-Related Skill Adjustments

Skills in our game are designed to provide a unique combat experience through diverse mechanics, and Shield Points (SP) are a prime example of this. While the SP mechanic is easy to understand, it can lead to imbalances when related effects stack. Take Xtrema, Shani, Luqueta, and Antonio for example: individually, they don’t seem particularly powerful. But when they’re equipped together, the resulting survivability for the player can be overwhelming, leaving opponents confused. They may wonder, “Why is the player still alive? Is there a damage bug?” This is not the kind of experience we want for our players. Therefore, we’re slightly adjusting these four skills to control their stacking power.

Xtreme

Xtrema Free Fire

Radical Damage:

Enter the Xtreme state and instantly gain 60 → 50 temporary Shield Points for 12s, during which each knockdown of an enemy restores the temporary Shield Points gained through this ability back to 60 → 50 and resets the duration of the state. When the state ends, the Shield Points gained from this process will be removed. Cooldown: 75s.

Shani

Shani Free Fire

Armor Recycling:

When using an active skill, grants 40 → 30 Shield Points to self and teammates within 10m. Shield Points decay after 5s, after which players can gain the effects again. Cooldown: 10s.

Luqueta

Free Fire Luqueta

Letter from the sleeve:

Each elimination permanently increases maximum Shield Points by 25 → 20. Maximum increase: 50 → 40. Clears effects when the player is eliminated or the round is restarted.

Antonio

Antonio Free Fire

Gangster Spirit:

Gain 30 → 20 extra Shield Points[-] at the start of the match. Recover Shield Points after surviving combat.

Koda

Reduced skill cooldown

“With an informative Rusher type of ability, Koda helps players gain an advantage before combat. However, it may not keep up with the pace of other Rusher abilities. In this patch, we’ve increased Koda’s movement speed and reduced the cooldown of his ability, making him more effective in direct combat and allowing players to gather information more frequently to plan their next moves.”

Boreal Vision:

Activates the Aurora power for 10s. Increases movement speed by 10% → 15% and detects enemies behind cover within 50m every 1s (unable to detect those crouching or prone). Cooldown: 60s → 45s. (When parachuting, highlights enemy locations within line of sight, but the effect is not shared with teammates.)

Wolfrahh

Wolfrahh Free Fire

More attack-oriented

“Have you ever landed a headshot but dealt less than 100 damage to the enemy? Headshots have always been a skill that players strive to master, and we encourage everyone to practice it. However, Wolfrahh’s ability can be frustrating for those who have invested a lot of time and effort into mastering the technique, while also throwing off the balance of the weapon. In the next patch, Wolfrahh’s headshot damage increase will remain the same, but the headshot damage reduction he receives will be reduced.”

Center of attention:

Each elimination will add a spectator, and the number of spectators will not be reduced. With each additional spectator, damage taken from headshots is reduced by 7% → 4% (max 21% → 12%) and damage from headshots to enemies is increased by 10% (max 30%).

Lila

Lila Free Fire

Improved weapon compatibility

“Lila’s slow effect and Gel Wall acquisition provide excellent team support, but they only apply to Assault Rifles at this time, limiting their impact on Bermuda. Now, we’re adding Marksman Rifles to expand their skill compatibility and flexibility.”

Freezing Strike:

When hitting enemies or vehicles with rifles and sniper rifles, slows enemy movement speed by 10% or vehicle acceleration by 50% → 80% for 3s. If the enemy is knocked down while slowed, freezes them for up to 3s, gains 1 extra Gel Wall.

Nikita

Nikita Free Fire

Most lethal attacks

“With the growing popularity of survival-focused skill combos, healing has become prevalent in battles. An enemy with constant healing abilities can seem invincible to their opponents, which is not ideal for the gameplay we’re aiming for. In the new update, Nikita, the only character with an anti-healing ability, will receive a skill adjustment that improves her effectiveness against enemies with high healing, such as Ford or Kassie. Paired with her fast reload speed, she can suppress healing more efficiently and take down opponents faster.”

Fighter:

Reload speed is increased by 30%. Every time the skill user hits an enemy, the target will receive a healing deduction of 30% → 50% that lasts for 10s → 6s (maximum deduction: 30% → 50%).

Other adjustments

  • Optimized the issue where Santino's dummy could not be used near Gel Walls
  • Paloma's skill description adjusted

Maps

Don't miss the rare utilities on the maps!

“All maps come with rare interactive points, such as Armories, Player Launchers, and Revival Points. However, the distribution of some of them was somewhat unbalanced, reducing the strategic value of the areas. This time, we are making adjustments accordingly to improve the gameplay experience on BR maps.”
  • Adjusted the locations of Armories in Bermuda, Purgatory, Kalahari, and Alpine to avoid crowding near the center of the map. Armories are now designed to serve as contested points between multiple areas rather than being tied to a single area.
  • Added Revival Points to the Windmill and Clock Tower in Bermuda, and removed the one in Kota Tua.
  • Added player launchers in Rim Nam Village and Mill in Bermuda, as well as near Blue Ville, Rye, and Docks in Alpine.
  • Moved the vending machine near the Hangar in Bermuda into the area.

Slope sliding mechanism

Unreachable heights must remain unreachable

“We noticed that some players have been exploiting certain extreme points on the map by repeatedly jumping to reach unrealistic heights, which has upset the balance of the game. That’s why we introduced the slope slide mechanic — when standing on steep slopes, players slide down due to gravity. Now, we all have to play by the laws of physics.”
  • Players on slopes with an angle of 75° or more will begin to slide slowly; on slopes steeper than 85°, they will slide at full speed.
  • This mechanic only applies to natural terrain and structures in the environment and does NOT affect player-placed Ice Walls.
  • This mechanism does NOT apply to the Kalahari.

Desert-themed Bermuda shorts

Exotic vibes in the game world

“Have you ever dreamed of a faraway place, completely different from your everyday surroundings? This time, we’ve brought an exotic desert-inspired setting to Bermuda. Let’s immerse ourselves in breathtaking landscapes and unique experiences as we engage in intense battles!”
  • Redesigned the Clock Tower area with a desert marketplace theme, featuring regionally inspired architecture, patterns, and decorations.
  • In each match, there is a chance for a special Ramadan-themed event to occur. When the clock on the Clock Tower strikes 6:00 PM, the sky over Bermuda will transform into a beautiful twilight scene. Street food stalls around the map will light up and display food items. Players can interact with these stalls to consume food and obtain supplies. After eating 4 times, players will receive full EP recovery and a buff that increases damage to Blood Cell Walls by 100%.
  • Bermuda, which surrounds the sea, has been replaced by desert lands, making it the only lush oasis amidst the vast sands.
  • Ramadan-themed camels have been added to all maps. Players can interact with them to obtain items.

Weapons and Balance

Special Weapon Augments

Dominate the battlefield with unique weapon upgrades

“Some weapons have been upgraded with special boosters that provide improved performance and unique mechanics, making them more powerful than standard weapons. Grab and master these boosted weapons in the field, and victory will be within your grasp!”
  • Three new special weapon boosts:
    • Infrared: Provides thermal effects with a unique scope texture
    • Infinite: Provides unlimited ammo
    • Focused: significantly increases accuracy
  • Weapons compatible with these boosts:
    • Infrared: M82B
    • Infinite: M60, MP5
    • Focused: AK47, MAG-7, Bizon
  • Sources to get these boosts:
    • EN: Ground Loot, Armories, War Chests, Hypercates
    • CS: Cyber Items in the CS Store

Weapon adjustments

Marksman Rifles: SKS and AC80

“The SKS and AC80’s headshot damage has lagged behind the Carrack, limiting their overall combat potential. To bring more balanced performance to marksman rifles, we’re giving the SKS and AC80 an increase in headshot damage. Additionally, the SKS is also receiving a few adjustments to ensure it performs more smoothly and intuitively for players in combat.”
  • SKS: Headshot range +20%, Accuracy -5%
  • AC80: Headshot range +20%

Assault Rifles: PLASMA and Shield Gun

“As two of the rare weapons with unique mechanics, the PLASMA and Shield Gun have struggled to stand out against other weapons in matches. In the new update, the PLASMA will join the Shield Gun as a map-exclusive weapon, available only in Bermuda. Meanwhile, both weapons will be buffed and set to become devastating forces on their respective maps.”
  • PLASMA: Energy recovery speed +25%, Fire rate +5% (only available in Bermuda)
  • Shield Weapon: Shield HP -20%, Damage +3%, Accuracy +15%, Armor Penetration +4% (only available in NexTerra)

Sniper Rifles: AWM, M82B, VSK94 and Kar98K

“For sniper rifles, this round of adjustments focuses on fixing the issue where weapon damage does not seem to register fully or properly on target, and improving the balance between different sniper rifles. After the adjustment, the AWM and VSK94 will see significant improvements in resolving the damage registration issue. Additionally, the underperforming Kar98K will receive a small buff to make it more competitive.”
  • AWM/AWM-Y: Fire rate +5%, reload speed -20%
  • VSK94: Fire rate +8%
  • M82B: Magazine capacity 8 → 10, Reload speed -20%
  • Kar98K/Kar98-I/Kar98K-II/Kar98K-III: Reload speed +25%

Submachine gun: Thompson

“Since Thompson will be removed from default weapons after being revived, we’ve adjusted his damage. This change will make Thompson more lethal in different modes.”
  • Thompson: Damage +4%

Pistol: G18 and M1917

“The G18 and M1917 play a crucial role in CS matches, but the G18’s current low accuracy limits its effectiveness. Meanwhile, compared to the Mini Uzi and Desert Eagle, the M1917 seems to have become an overlooked choice. To balance the strength of the pistols, the G18 and M1917 will receive buffs that will change the dynamics of the early CS rounds.”
  • M1917: Damage +10%, Accuracy +15%
  • G18: Accuracy +10%

Shotgun: Extra Load

"Once a dominant shotgun, the Extra Charge has been a quiet part of the shotgun fraternity for too long. In this upcoming patch, it's getting a buff that increases its close-range effectiveness to new heights!"
  • Extra Charge: Charge speed +20%

Explosion related adjustments

"Grenades, M79s, and other area-of-effect weapons play a crucial role in matches. As the game continues to expand, the number of these explosive weapons in matches is constantly increasing. Therefore, we have decided to make adjustments to some explosion-related weapons and items to improve the overall gameplay experience."
  • Grenade: Minimum damage 40 → 60
  • M79: Minimum damage 40 → 60
  • Trogon (Grenade): Damage 100 → 60
  • M590: Explosion range +20%, Explosion damage -20%
  • Vest adjustments:
    • Vest Lv. 2: Explosion damage reduction 15% → 25%
    • Vest Level 3 Explosion Damage Reduction 20% → 45%

Weapon sound optimization

Clearer combat sound feedback

"In the past, the lack of distinct sound feedback when hitting different objects added unnecessary complexity to already intense combat. To improve this, we've introduced new combat sound effects in the latest version. These updates not only make hit feedback clearer, but also increase your overall awareness of the battle situation."
  • New sound effects for hitting the following items:
    • Glass wall
    • Armor
    • Body
    • Destructible boxes
  • Optimized sound effects for hitting vehicles
